Included, is an unreleased mix of %u201CWay Back%u201D featuring Lisa Shaw, which is revisited with a new interpretation by DJ Smash. His original remix of %u201CWay Back%u201D (DJ Smash Brooklyn Tech Mixes) was an homage to classic Chicago house music with a Mr. Fingers (Larry Heard) influenced production, which helped propel the release to #2 on the Traxsource Singles chart. This time around, Smash%u2019s version is inspired by the jazz-funk sounds of the 70%u2019s Disco era.
The title track, %u201CBoogie Buffet%u201D includes 3 variations. The original and original dub, are both melody driven disco-boogie gems, while the deep dub is more groove based.

The first release on Wolf Trap Elektronisch is Simon Heartfield's 'Secret Self'. Simon has been releasing music since the late eighties in one form or another. As a bass player in the band 'The Psylons' he received support from the late, great BBC Radio One legend John Peel with plays on his show the 'John Peel Sessions'. Simon's DJ sets and live electronic performances have seen him play alongside the likes of The Orb's Alex Paterson, Billy Nasty, Umek, Luke Slater and Colin Dale. 'Secret Self' has an eighties film soundtrack feel, very percussive with an industrial edge. It's deep, dark and ambient.

Metro Area's Metro Area 5 (2004) and Metro Area 6 (2005) saw the New York duo searching to reclaim their identity after releasing their debut (and only) album in 2002 amid a flurry of sound-alike records. Heretofore released only on vinyl, Environ is proud to present both of these Metro Area EPs remastered and combined into a new digital mini-album: Metro Area 5 & 6.
Metro Area 5 commences with "Nerves," a suspenseful, driving groove soaked in frantic Latin percussion and fierce drums, featuring angular synthetic textures that ultimately melt into a melancholic finale awash in acoustic piano, strings and horns. However, it is the B-side's "Proton Candy" that ultimately became a DJ favorite with its tight electric bassline and playful atmosphere, conjuring images of roller rink nights and bubblegum R&B radio days. Metro Area 6 kicks off with "Honey Circuit," a track chock-full of sonic detail, suspenseful arrangements and a wordless female vocal in the foreground.
